You may have heard the National news story about the 21 dogs that were rescued from a hoarding situation in San Diego recently. If you haven't, below is the article. Meka was 1 of those 21 dogs. When we rescued her, she was in bad shape (her before and after pictures are on this listing). He was matted, has a missing tooth, scared but was surprisingly in the best shape out of the 21 dogs. How quickly things changed for Meka: The Animal Pad rescued her along with 2 more of her housemates, took her straight to the vet then on an International Reality Show about Dog culture and grooming in the US where she got her snazzy pink ears and ... (Read More)tail(see pictures). Meka was actually the star of the show as the host picked her to shoot most scenes with. The host wanted to adopt Meka but living in the Netherlands made that non feasible. Meka is quite possibly one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met! She absolutely loves to be in your lap at all times. Cuddling is her favorite past time and it was clear that she hasn't had one on one human affection in a long time, if ever. Meka does amazing with all dogs and is currently fostered with 2 other small pups. Because of Meka's love of dogs, we would like to see her adopted into a home with at least one other pup. is the absolute perfect companion and she does incredibly well in the car and just sits quietly wherever you take her! Timmy is a sweet, fun loving, adorable little dude. He wants nothing more then to follow you around and be your forever shadow. He seems to be about a year old. He weighs about 10 pounds, is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and registered. Timmy has a birth deformity on his right front leg, and technically only has 3 usable legs. But this does not slow him down, and does not harm/affect him in any way. He gets along with every dog he meets. He could care less about cats, and loves every human he meets. He does not have a mean bone in his body! He doesnt yap(amazing for a small dog!), is housebroken, and is learning manners very quickly. ... He is a social littlw guy! We have another foster, a small black and white papallion border collie mix, who is very bonded to timmy. Please note: we only adopt our rescues in Southern California. Tucker's forever home should have a very securely fenced yard, an active owner, no kids and no big dogs. He should not be in a home where he is left alone most of the day. Tucker is a little love bug. A Papillon-Longhaired Chihuahua mix, he is just over a year old, is a shorty at 8' at the shoulder and weighs 8 pounds. He is just a puppy and doesn't have all his coat in yet (he will be a long-haired dog). For a puppy, he is very gentle. He loves to cuddle. He will need patience is getting his housetraining solid (taken out on a regular basis) and could use a basic training class to establish his new owner as leader of the pack so that he will come when he is called every time and learn to walk well on a leash. Papillon Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Papillon is an elegant toy breed with large ears and a gracefully curved tail. Papillons are active, playful, and full of personality. Papillons do well with older children and cats with whom they are socialized, but can sometimes be combative with other dogs. Housebreaking a Papillon may require patience. Papillons love to play outside, and can be protective and territorial. This breed does best with a yard, but some Papillons adapt fine to urban apartment life.
