He does well on a leash and enjoys a good walk. He is very house broken. Parker is neutered, heartworm negative, vaccinations up to date and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150. Rescue Me ID: 17-03-13-00153Tennyson (male)

Papillon Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tennyson is a very sweet, out-going Papillon / Dachshund mix with maybe a splash of Chihuahua in there somewhere. He's roughly 8lbs and we estimate him to be about 9 months old. Tennyson has a beautiful, medium-length silky coat that is so soft. Although he's still a puppy, Tennyson is well behaved and doesn't get too rowdy. He plays nicely with both big and small dogs, and even cats to o! Tennyson loves people and really enjoys making new friends, especially if they're willing to hand out belly rubs. Those are his favorite! Tennyson is looking for the perfect forever home because he hasn't had the best start to life. You see, this sweet, ... (Read More)gentle little boy was picked up as a stray on the streets of Houston with a broken hip. There's no telling what would have happened to him if the wonderful people at Harris County and K-9 Angels hadn't stepped in to help him. Despite his broken hip, Tennyson does still get around exceptionally well. Our vet was shocked by how tough this little boy is! He didn't even flinch when she was examining his hip and moving his leg back and forth. He doesn't even have any trouble going up and down the stairs in his foster home. Although he doesn't seem to be too limited by his injury, Tennyson will need to have surgery to repair his hip. He'll likely be perfectly normal once he's completely healed though! Tennyson does well in his crate when his foster mom is at work, but he probably won't need to be crated once he's a little bit older. He's not much of a trouble maker at all. Tennyson is also doing really well with his potty training. He's only had a few accidents in the house, and most of those were during his first few days out of the shelter, so who can blame him? Tennyson already sleeps all night in the big kids' bed without ever needing to go outside. If you're looking for a sweet, lovable, happy pup then Tennyson might be the perfect guy for you! :) Tennyson is a Male Papillon / Dachshund mix that we estimate to be born around July 15, 2016 and weighs 8 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: Thank you! (Less)

Papillon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament

Bandit is 2 years old, 14 inches, 11 pounds, heartworm/fecal negative. He is loving life as an active youngster. He likes squeaky toys and playing chase with the resident dogs in his foster home. He is fast and agile, and with training would likely be an agility candidate. When it's time to slow down a bit he also likes to cuddle with his human on the couch. Bandit will benefit from a basic obedience class to help channel his energy. He is good with kids and other dogs. He is also house and crate trained.

Rescue Me ID: 16-11-04-00253Stampi (female)

Papillon Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Stampi came into the rescue last December. Although I originally planned to place her for adoption, she got along so well with my other dogs and she was so cute that I began considering keeping her. However, as time has passed I have realized that I simply have too many dogs, and Stampi needs to move on to a forever home. Stampi is a very special girl, and all applicants will need to complete a full application, interview, and home visit before being approved. A veterinary reference will be required. Stampi is a sassy, playful pup. She enjoys playing with plush toys, playing fetch, and giving kisses. Although she likes laying at your feet ... (Read More)and laying beside you, she does not prefer being held in a lap. She shows her love by giving dog hugs - she places her paws on your shoulders and then leans in for a single lick! She spends most of her time playing with toys and lounging. She is not a hyper dog, although she is playful. She enjoys relaxing and simply being near her humans. Stampi likes other small dogs, but she can get a bit bossy. She does not like large dogs and is aggressive towards them. She needs to be in a home with only small dogs. She is about 2 years old, weighs 8-10 lbs, and has been spayed/vaccinated and is heartworm negative. She does have some skin allergies and takes benadryl. She also sometimes gets excited when she greets you and has a very tiny accident. This is called excitement/submission urination. If this is a dealbreaker for you, please do not apply! She is house-trained, and will wait by the door when she needs to go outside. In regards to breed, we estimate that she is a Japanese Chin/Papillon, but she may also have some long-haired chihuahua. Since she was originally rescued from the pound, we are not 100% certain of her breed. She was found on the streets and turned over to the pound last year. If you would like to apply, please go to and fill out the application. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Papillon in Texas
Papillon Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Papillon is an elegant toy breed with large ears and a gracefully curved tail. Papillons are active, playful, and full of personality. Papillons do well with older children and cats with whom they are socialized, but can sometimes be combative with other dogs. Housebreaking a Papillon may require patience. Papillons love to play outside, and can be protective and territorial. This breed does best with a yard, but some Papillons adapt fine to urban apartment life.
