Rescue Me ID: 17-06-11-00255Goldie (female)

Papillon Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Goldie is an 18 month old, 11.5 pound, female Papillon Mix that was found as a stray. She did not have a collar or tag and was not chipped. She was held in the home of the family that found her for about 2 weeks, but no owners could be found. She was then surrendered to PPR. Goldie is a gentle, sweet and lovable dog. She gets along well with the other dogs in the pack and enjoys playing with all of them. She is not a hyper dog and does not jump up on people when she meets them. She is housebroken and is kennel trained for night time. You will often find her in an open kennel during the day, sleeping peacefully. She enjoys children ... (Read More)and adults, men and women. I have no doubt, cats would be ignored. She will walk on a leash without difficulty and looks forward to walking in the cool hours of the morning. Goldie is spayed, vaccinations up to date, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-20-00282Gizmo (male)

Papillon Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Gizmo (beautiful boy in front of picture) is a Papillon/Jack Russell Terrier Mix. I rescued him from an abusive situation and have mostly rehabilitated him. Having said that it is better he is in a household where there are no children or there are responsible teenagers who are understanding of his needs. He is a huge cuddle bug and if allowed will be in your lap 24-7. Knows his basic commands of sit, stay come, lay down as well as a few fun ones like shake and high five. Walks well on a leash in a submissive posture. He loves to play with other dogs if they will allow it, but respects if they don't want to. He will mostly ignore the ... (Read More)family cats. I would love for both Gizmo and Missy (black lab mix in background to go together as they have been together for years, but it isn't mandatory) Unfortunately I just don't have the time to dedicate to them now that I am a single mom and it isn't fair to them. They deserve to be in a family that can give them lots of love and attention. He loves to play and go on walks or short runs, but is equally happy lounging around at home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-13-00153Tennyson (male)

Papillon Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tennyson is a very sweet, out-going Papillon/Daschund mix with maybe a splash of Chihuahua in there somewhere. He's roughly 8lbs and we estimate him to be about 10 months old now. Tennyson has a beautiful, medium-length silky coat that is so soft. Although he's still a puppy, Tennyson is well behaved and doesn't get too rowdy. In fact, one of Tennyson's favorite pasti mes is nap time! His foster mom calls him 'Tired Tenny' because he always seems to be dozing off. He plays nicely with both big and small dogs, and even cats too! Tennyson is very close with the other dogs in his foster home so we want him to make sure he goes to a home with ... (Read More)another dog who is also social. Tennyson also loves people and really enjoys making new friends, especially if they're willing to hand out belly rubs. Those are his favorite! Tennyson is looking for the perfect forever home because he hasn't had the best start to life. You see, this sweet, gentle little boy was picked up as a stray on the streets of Houston with a broken hip. There's no telling what would have happened to him if the wonderful people at Harris County and K-9 Angels hadn't stepped in to help him. Tennyson has already had surgery to repair his broken hip and he's on the road to recovery. He's getting around just fine and will likely be completely normal once he's fully recovered. Tennyson does well in his crate when his foster mom is at work, but he probably won't need to be crated once he's a little bit older. He's not much of a trouble maker at all. Tennyson is also doing really well with his potty training. He's only had a few accidents in the house, and most of those were during his first few days out of the shelter, so who can blame him? Tennyson already sleeps all night in the big kids' bed without ever needing to go outside. If you're looking for a sweet, lovable, happy pup then Tennyson might be the perfect guy for you! :) Tennyson is a Male Papillon / Dachshund mix that we estimate to be born around July 15, 2016 and weighs 8 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Thank you! PIease Read Before Adopting a Papillon in Texas
Papillon Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Papillon is an elegant toy breed with large ears and a gracefully curved tail. Papillons are active, playful, and full of personality. Papillons do well with older children and cats with whom they are socialized, but can sometimes be combative with other dogs. Housebreaking a Papillon may require patience. Papillons love to play outside, and can be protective and territorial. This breed does best with a yard, but some Papillons adapt fine to urban apartment life.

lnteresting Papillon Trivia Low-Cost Texas Spay & Neuter Clinics
Papillon is French for butterfly. Papillon dogs get their name because of the butterfly-like shape of their ears. Papillons are depicted in Italian frescoes from the Renaissance. Papillons are a very old European breed that has been around for over 700 years. A myth exists that Marie Antoinette carried her Papillon on her way to the guillotine.
