Papillon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered

I found this dog running on a busy street in NW Houston on spring cypress and spring stuebner. The dog was COVERED in fleas so I bathed him and removed all fleas. He felt so good after his bath, he even gave me some face licks. I could not imagine the pain he must have been feeling being eaten alive by those fleas. I will hold the dog until next Saturday and if an owner does not come forward and prove ownership, he will need to be adopted out. I cannot keep this dog as I have 2 dogs and a cat already. This is a very sweet dog that is easily trainable. Easy temperament and good with my dogs and cat. Average energy level. If you are a rescue, ... Rescue Me ID: 16-06-30-00621Franklin (male)

Papillon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Well hello there. My name is Franklin, and my foster mom thinks I'm the sweetest little goofball she has ever fostered. They think I am a Papillon mix, but my foster mom says I might as well be a cute little fox. I am probably about 1-2 years old. I am so happy and thankful to be out of that scary place where I was dumped off, and I am starting to learn that I REALLY love the good life in a comfy home. I was a little shy and scared at first, but after some love and snuggles I warmed right up. When I get excited or happy, I love to do this adorable little spin of excitement and sometimes I even chase my tail. I also hop around in the yard ... (Read More)like a little bunny. It doesn't seem like anyone has spent time training me in the past, but I am very willing to learn and love to please! I am working really hard on potty training, but I need to be let out every 4 hours just to make sure. I am even trying to learn how to shake, and I almost have it. I sleep very quietly through the night on a dog bed with my foster siblings, and I don't know how to jump on the couch, but I love to cuddle in your lap if you let me. I can't wait to potentially meet my forever family this weekend. I promise to thank you for making me a part of your family by giving lots of sweet puppy kisses, doing my happy spin when you get home form work, and being your snuggle buddy. Love, Franklin. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Thank you! Papillon    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Peanut is very sweet and loving, but a bit feisty with strangers. Once he gets to know you he will be a devoted companion. He's getting along in years, and I think he's going a little deaf, as he is slow to respond to noises and calls. We have had three dogs, and he has gotten along with them fine.

Shorty is not short on looks or love! He has plenty to give! Shorty is about 8 pounds - perfect size for a companion to go for walks, hang out in the yard and enjoy life. Shorty loves people, will do well with other dogs as long as they don't pick on him (he can be a little bit shy) He is about two years old and has great manners - not too much of a barker and doesn't jump on people. He is crate trained, current on vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped! We do not have a facility that opens to the public, our pets are in foster homes so that we can get to know them. We meet by appointment. See our website for more pictures ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Papillon in Texas
Papillon Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Papillon is an elegant toy breed with large ears and a gracefully curved tail. Papillons are active, playful, and full of personality. Papillons do well with older children and cats with whom they are socialized, but can sometimes be combative with other dogs. Housebreaking a Papillon may require patience. Papillons love to play outside, and can be protective and territorial. This breed does best with a yard, but some Papillons adapt fine to urban apartment life.

lnteresting Papillon Trivia Low-Cost Texas Spay & Neuter Clinics
Papillon is French for butterfly. Papillon dogs get their name because of the butterfly-like shape of their ears. Papillons are a very old European breed that has been around for over 700 years. Many Renaissance paintings depict Papillons.
