Meet Poppy! This little piece of sugar will steal your heart! She is friendly, happy and will bring joy into your life! Poppy was left in a CA boarding facility because her owner is dying. Her situation was brought to our attention by one of our CA fosters. Poppy, was well cared for and loved. Sadly, her owner could no longer care for her in her weakened condition. Poppy loves to snuggle and play with toys. She will make a great companion for someone who has the time to spend with her. She is around 7 lbs and 3 years old. She is friendly with other dogs. Children over 10 are ok. Poppy was rescued and transported to Seattle for a ... (Read More)better life. Rescue Me ID: 15-11-08-00251Clementine (female)

Papillon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Clementine was rescued from the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter here in Houston. She is a beautiful, long-haired girl with soft and silky fur. She is available to any area in the USA, as we transport dogs frequently out of state. Clementine is a bit shy, and she may take a little while to warm up to you, but once she does she is a quiet and gentle dog. Clementine is not that interested in other dogs, and she would do fine in a home without other pets. She would also do well in a home with other dogs as she gets along well with all her foster siblings. Clara is up to date on her shots, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. She is ... Rescue Me ID: 15-10-25-00221Betty (female)

Papillon Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet sassy Betty! Just a little girl looking for a home with another small dog who loves to wrestle! Like many small dogs, she needs to get out to go to the bathroom every 3 or 4 hours so someone has to be home. Betty is a bit shy at first but she warms up and oh my is she a cutie! Betty has quite a bit of hair loss -- we aren't sure what caused the hair loss but she's healthy now and the hair is growing back slowly but surely. We think she's no more than 18 months old and probably a long haired chi mixed with papillon. We know for sure she's a cutie! Betty is spayed, micro-chipped, up to date on her vaccines, and so ready for a home. ... (Read More)Please tell us about yourself when you ask for an application. (Less)

Papillon    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Lowe (little wolf) is an 11 year old, healthy male papillon. He is leash trained and has achieved basic obedience. He is very sprightly, smart, and bright. Lowe is truly a castle dog -- watching the home with great care. Although he loves to take walks and chase after his toys, he does very well just curled up in his dog bed. He has been an indoor dog all his life and has spent time in only two households (same family). Lowe needs a home with adults only. He would do very well with an experienced dog whispering female owner whom he would be totally devoted. He has lived with other dogs; but would be happiest if he was the only ... (Read More)creature in the house. Lowe is tentative and sometimes fearful of other dogs - although he does fine on walks. He does not like to be picked up by people he does not trust. But he will jump up next to new people. Lowe would do well in a home with an experienced papillon owner. He should not be in a home with children. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Papillon in Washington
Papillon Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The Papillon is an elegant toy breed with large ears and a gracefully curved tail. Papillons are active, playful, and full of personality. Papillons do well with older children and cats with whom they are socialized, but can sometimes be combative with other dogs. Housebreaking a Papillon may require patience. Papillons love to play outside, and can be protective and territorial. This breed does best with a yard, but some Papillons adapt fine to urban apartment life.

lnteresting Papillon Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
Papillon is French for butterfly. Papillon dogs get their name because of the butterfly-like shape of their ears. Many Renaissance paintings depict Papillons. A myth exists that Marie Antoinette carried her Papillon on her way to the guillotine.
