Papillon Mix    Age: Puppy

Meet Sweet 'Lexi-Luna' She arrived in Seattle the night of the super moon. She has adorable smiley, button brown eyes. Lexi is a blonde female 2 yr old, 12 pound Spaniel mix. She looks like a mini Golden retriever with fluffy ears. She is playful and has a sweet temperament. Lexi is a shelter dog and was saved from a very high kill shelter in CA. Lexi is current with all vaccines, microchip, and spayed. She is gentle, cuddly and would make a excellent dog for a family or someone seeking a best friend. Lexi likes to play and go for walks . The company of another dog her age is desired. She plays well with dogs her size. She has a quiet, sweet ... (Read More)disposition but is playful. She plays with her foster brothers and can hold her own. Lexi likes, adults, children, and dogs she gets to know.We are not sure how she is with cats and we recommend no offleash parks big dogs or dogs approaching too fast scare her. She is crate trained & walks well on a leash. She is current with all vaccines, health certificate & micro chip. Her ideal home would be a well adjusted home with a fenced yard or doggy daycare for doggy social interaction. Continued positive training is encouraged along with establishing a feeding schedule & potty routine. Lexi would be ideal for a person or family who is interactive and willing to do a basic obedience class. Lexi loves to be cuddled and held. Her coat requires basic grooming & bathing and nail trims every 6 weeks. Her favorite spot is with her human. Lexi sleeps in a crate but would love to sleep in the bed with her human. She is the sweetest, cuddly girl and is ready for her forever home. Lexi can be a little timid when first meeting her but warms up after a little while. Lexi is very smart and a fast learner. We do not recommend off leash or general dog parks for any rescue dogs. A basic obedience class is highly recommended to work on and establish a bond between the adopter and the dog. Lexi's ideal family would be knowledgeable of dogs and have another small sweet dog and fenced yard. Lexi is submissive and barks at other dogs if approached. She needs a patient comitted home that can work with her and build her confidence. She is going to make a family very happy if given the chance. Before applying please prepare your home and space for a dog secure fencing, install baby gates etc. We recommend that you have everything in place prior to bringing home a dog. i.e. crate, pee pads, food, dog sitter etc. Leaving a dog home for 8 hrs per day will not work with out someone to help relieve for the dog. Home check and references required. Adoption fee: 550.00 includes spay, dental, grooming, health certificate, de-worming,flea treatment, microchip and 30 days free Pet Insurance. The adoption fees will also go towards helping many of our rescued dogs who are in desperate need of orthopedic surgery, dental and teeth extractions, hernias, cherry eye removals and boarding fees. Donations are always appreciated to help us pay down our vet bills which now runs over $7,000. This adoption fee is firm as the pet rescue needs to recoup the money spent on vetting in order to save the next dog in need. We have a a big vet bill and donations are appreciated as well. We are a non profit organization Please submit a on line adoption application at and we will review and contact you promptly. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Papillon in Washington
Papillon Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The Papillon is an elegant toy breed with large ears and a gracefully curved tail. Papillons are active, playful, and full of personality. Papillons do well with older children and cats with whom they are socialized, but can sometimes be combative with other dogs. Housebreaking a Papillon may require patience. Papillons love to play outside, and can be protective and territorial. This breed does best with a yard, but some Papillons adapt fine to urban apartment life.

lnteresting Papillon Trivia Low-Cost Washington Spay & Neuter Clinics
Papillon is French for butterfly. Papillon dogs get their name because of the butterfly-like shape of their ears. Papillons are depicted in Italian frescoes from the Renaissance. Papillons are a very old European breed that has been around for over 700 years. A myth exists that Marie Antoinette carried her Papillon on her way to the guillotine.
