Rescue Me ID: 16-07-17-00208Morgan (female)
**Due to the large volume of inquiries we receive, we will not be able to respond to emails or phone calls until an adoption application has been submitted first.** Morgan is a 10 year old 10.2 lb Papillon who was rescued just in time from a high-kill shelter in California. She is a sweet, quiet and reserved senior lady. Morgan gets along great with other dogs and people, but we haven't seen her around children or cats yet, so we're not sure how she does with them. Morgan is spayed, microchipped, heart worm negative, and up to date on vaccinations. She has just had a hernia removed and will be going back to the vet for a dental cleaning in 5 weeks when she can go under anesthesia again. If you'd like to give this sweetheart the loving forever home she deserves, please fill out an application at aberdeenstr.com. There is a $250 adoption fee for Morgan. **We update our listings minutes after dogs have been adopted, so if a dog is still listed, they are still waiting to meet their forever family!** (Less)

Animal ID: 51647Rudy (male)
Meet Rudy! Rudy is a 12-pound, 1 year old mix of totally cute and absolutely adorable (he probably has some Chihuahua and Papillon in there too). He is a super fun, happy and playful guy who loves to be with his family 24/7. Rudy is incredibly social and loves the company of dogs and people alike and is comfortable around kids (he is currently in foster care with a toddler and they get along great). When Rudy isn't playing, he loves to cuddle. His favorite place to sleep is on your pillow, stretched out on top of you, or under the covers snuggled up alongside you. Rudy is a special boy who needs a little bit of extra TLC. He has a broken pelvis from an old injury that healed incorrectly prior to his rescue. This has caused an extreme narrowing of his pelvis. Rudy's diet needs to be monitored closely and supplemented with laxatives in order to keep things moving smoothly. Rudy's previous owner experimented with different foods and found that he did best on a half bar of My Perfect Pet fresh frozen food, along with a half cup of Evanger's canned puppy food per day (divided into a quarter-bar and quarter-cup for each of two daily meals). Rudy also gets 1.5 teaspoons of Miralax and a teaspoon of pumpkin or sweet potato puree mixed in with his breakfast. Despite his special needs, Rudy has lots of energy and spends his days playing with his two furry foster sisters (and human toddler foster brother). He has no trouble navigating stairs, but appreciates a little help getting up and down from taller furniture. Rudy has lower than average bone density, so it will be important to keep an eye on him so he doesn't overdo himself. It's also a good idea to make sure Rudy's puppy playmates are similar in size to Rudy, and that any children in the home are gentle and know good pet-handling manners. An ideal forever home for Rudy would have a fenced yard, and possibly a dog door. Due to Rudy's narrow pelvis, he needs frequent outdoor access during the day, sometimes every 30 minutes to an hour. Rudy has mild separation anxiety, so finding a family that is home a lot would be great. Rudy would absolutely love to have another doggie friend in the house to play with. Canine play time is an awesome outlet for all of his puppy energy! Rudy walks nicely on a leash and is crate trained, and he is making progress with house training. He knows 'sit' and 'crate' but would benefit from a basic obedience class. Rudy is an all-around awesome dog and will make a wonderful addition to the right family! Check out Rudy's Video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhHsHp6cyDs If you think Rudy might be a good fit for your family, please come in to meet him today! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-07-00361Sami (male)
Sami's Info... I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats. Sami's Story... What do you get when you cross the loveable lap dog known as the Papillon with the tiny firecracker known as the Jack Russell Terrier? Sami, the adorable little creature you see before you. Sami is both a lap dog AND a whirling dervish. Often her Papillon side takes over, and she is calm and cuddly. But the Jack Russell Terrier in her craves activity, so this little cutie pie needs a good exercise session twice a day. Whether it's taking her for a lively walk morning and evening, or heading out in the back yard to chase a ball, Sami needs this activity to keep her healthy, happy and engaged. When given enough exercise, this pretty and sweet little dog is a loveable lap dog who loves to snuggle. She can also be playful, funny and goofy at times. Sami has a medium length white coat with black and brown markings, cute perky ears and a dazzling smile. She is just 5 years old, very healthy, up to date on shots, spayed and perfectly house broken. She is also crate trained. Sami weighs 12 pounds. Sami is such a sweetheart! She is just 5, perfectly healthy and perfectly house broken. She has been spayed and is up to date on shots. Her heartbroken owners are having to find her a home without children or other pets after an incident where she nipped their crawliing baby over a toy. This has never occurred before, but for the safety of their baby, the couple needs to find someone special to take over ownership of this sweet little dog. Sami is very cuddly and affectionate. A great lap dog and very comforting to snuggle with. All supplies will be included. The owners would love to keep in touch with her. Please offer her a loving home here: http://findmypetahome.com/sami/ There is a $75 rehoming/adoption fee. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-14-00606Ellie (female)
Sweet little Ellie is a spaniel/papillon, with a little dachshund in the mix. She's a very friendly girl that loves everyone she meets, so she'd be a great family dog. She is only about 1yr old ad weighs about 12lbs. She's very energetic sou would be a great hiking partner. She gets along great with other dogs and because of level of energy, another playmate in the home would be ideal. She is still young and loves to be with her people so leaving her for no more than 4-5 he intervals would be best. She does not like kitties so no cats in the home.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Papillon in Washington
Papillon Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The Papillon is an elegant toy breed with large ears and a gracefully curved tail. Papillons are active, playful, and full of personality. Papillons do well with older children and cats with whom they are socialized, but can sometimes be combative with other dogs. Housebreaking a Papillon may require patience. Papillons love to play outside, and can be protective and territorial. This breed does best with a yard, but some Papillons adapt fine to urban apartment life.
