     I've received the Rescue Me newsletters for some time, to have a sense of dogs available for adoption, but only became more serious at the end of last year. I thought it would take a long time for me to find a small dog with a good disposition but within a month, I saw the notice about Sasha and got in touch. The foster family was great and things seem to be moving smoothly. We were interviewed by the foster family, who provided a lot of helpful information, and Sasha has become part of our household.

     I highly recommend Rescue Me! I posted yesterday morning and by the end of the day, I received a dozen calls and texts. Thank you to all who replied. I went with the first call I received. It just felt right. Hailie went to her new home tonight. I've heard from her new owner who 'loves her already' and she sent me a picture. I'm so relieved to know she has gone to a good home. It is a perfect fit.

     I did adopt Callie from a nice young lady who was shuttling between cities. The person was between schooling, jobs and moving all at once. Callie is doing fine and as mentioned in her post, though approximately 11 years old, can run circles around my nine year old male Papi, Jacques, as well as around me and any critter that dares venture into our yard. I had her vet checked and she's now up to date on all shots and got a clean bill of health. They were impressed with the previous care she had received too. We are still working on leash manners. Her previous owner used to jog with her, but being a senior citizen, I don't jog. So I'm trying to make our walks more sedate using a long line, but she's so used to moving fast, she still has to learn how to slow down a bit and enjoy the sights and smells along the way. Inside the house, she's adorable, mostly a little lady, but a bit of a clown at times. She tries to catch her own tail and ends up doing summersaults on the sofa, then looks to see if I'm watching. She loves to watch birds and squirrels out the windows and is now my shadow moving through all rooms of the house. My other Papi has taken to her quite well, cries when I'm out with her alone, and they steal treats from the other. I can give them identical biscuits, but after taking it to their favorite spots, first one or the other moves away, then the other moves away and they run to grab the other's treat and then are content back in their own snacking spots. They are respectful of each other at meal time and generally seem to be good company for each other when I'm busy with chores or something. She's a cute girl and has a very bubbly and nice personality. Thank you, Rescue Me!

     I saw Maggie on Rescue Me and was smitten with her photo. I called Audrey who had to find a new home for Maggie. I drove a ways to meet Audrey and Maggie with my dogs, Shadow and Summer. As I had hoped, Audrey was as nice in person and Maggie was as great a dog, a Papillon like her description on Rescue Me. Shadow and Summer gave Maggie a two paws up so Maggie came home with us. We had just recently had a dog pass away, and in joining our family. Maggie lifted everyone's spirit, including Shadow and Summer.

     I'm so pleased to say I got Dolly from Rescue Me and didn't tell my 87 year old mother what I was doing. When I brought her into her home to give her to her, she looked shocked and not too happy; however, after an hour or so she was so pleased with Dolly and loves her so much so quick it was just what I was hoping. People live longer when they have a pet to love and give their attention. My mom loves Dolly so much! I was extremely surprised, I thought she was going to say take her back. Instead, I could not have picked a better companion for her. Dolly doesn't bark and she stays about two feet from my Mom so I don't worry that she will trip over her. Dolly is the sweetest, most sincere pet. My mom feels extremely blessed. Thank you so much, Rescue Me!!!

     After a nice telephone call, Joe and Linda showed up at our home to meet Lowe. Usually skiddish and cautious, Lowe jumped right up in their lap. After a short visit, Joe, Linda and Lowe loaded up in their car and drove back to their rural home about an hour away. Linda was clear that she did not want to adopt a puppy; and she had lived with a Papillon before. Their were gracious and understanding. I tried to be as honest and upfront as possible about Lowe's assets and faults. This little dog NEEDED this undivided constant attention that Joe and Linda could give to him! He has been the best dog ever, even as a senior, he is bright and playful and fills a void left by our 18 year old Chihuahua who passed a year ago. He fits into our family like he's always been here and has made us smile many times. Giving a forever home to a senior dog is so rewarding, I hope we can be worthy of our Poppie!

     The Rescue Me website is amazing. I really didn't think anything would come of it after I posted my dog, Fiona. But after just three days, the most amazing woman called me to inquire about this beautiful Papillon. Fiona is now living on a small farm with four other Papillons that are free to play outside all day. The woman makes her own dog food, and they get doggie ice cream in the afternoons. I can rest easy knowing that Fiona will be well cared for and happy. They don't even care that she needs to have access to wee-wee pads.

     Just by luck we found Rescue Me! after checking some of the other adoption sites, and we found a family who unfortunately had to move and couldn't take their dogs. We went out and visited them just for a meet and greet, and came home with the sweetest most adorable Papillion! She is the cutest thing ever and she will be our forever dog. It was very nice to get a feel for the dogs energy and dominance levels before going to visit. It made the first dog we visited here a success!

However through the amazing Rescue Me! site, he is in a new home with a recently retired lady who kept him from the day I took him for a visit.      Rocky was adopted this past Saturday by a very loving, sweet couple who lived 2 1/2 hours away. They drove up to get him and said he has adjusted so well to his new home and two 'sisters' - a border collie and a kitten! :) His new owner said she has always wanted a Papillon and knew about their quirks because her mother has one. We are so happy that things have turned out so well! We had to put him up for adoption because he and his biological sister were too anxious and barked all the time together. Ever since they split, they have both been so much calmer and easy going! We had actually resorted to putting them on Xanax a month ago but now, neither of them needs any meds at all! We are so thankful for this website and hope it helps many other dogs find new homes! :)

     I posted my sweet, three year old Papillon on Rescue Me yesterday and received an e-mail from a wonderful retired couple who have a Papillon and were thrilled to learn about Zoe. They live about an hour away and came today to meet her. Their Pap, Barbie, is tinier than Zoe but definitely more alpha, which will be a perfect match for Zoe's exuberance and need for a partner who will race around with her and wear her out. Our family was very sad about giving her up but so happy to see her go to a home where she will get a lot of attention, do some traveling and be the center of attention. I'm very grateful for 'Rescue Me!' I highly recommend this website to anyone who is struggling with the difficulty of having to rehome a pet and who doesn't want to deal with the judgmental views of some of the rescue organizations. We did what was best for Zoe and our family and as sad is it was to say goodbye we know she will have a very happy life with her new family!!!

     I couldn't imagine a better new home for Carson. He is happy and healthy in the beautiful countryside of Wellsville, Utah, with fresh air and a nice big backyard, plus two new siblings to play with...another Papillon and a Goldendoodle! His new mom Aubree is sweet and caring, and was so kind and understanding during the whole process where I interviewed her to death to make sure she'd be perfect for him! She even had his teeth fixed right after getting him (he had a couple of rotten teeth as a result of past trauma that needed to be pulled). I couldn't afford the procedure and she is an intern at her local Vet's office so she took care of it right away. She is going to Vet Tech school starting this summer to start her journey towards becoming a veterinarian! And now you know why I say that I couldn't have possibly found a better new forever home for Carson. He and his new brother Havoc play all the time. I want to thank Jeff and everyone at Rescue Me! for making all this possible. Carson and I got so lucky, and although I miss him so much, I also feel lots of comfort and joy knowing that my sweet little guy is happy and safe in his new home.

     Jeff, Thurby was adopted by a wonderful older couple from Ohio who saw him posted on Rescue Me. Since then, I have received two other inquiries regarding Thurby. As heart breaking as it is in having to give a beloved pet of six (6) year up (in my case my 3 year old granddaughter who came to live with me was highly allergic), thank goodness there was some place I could turn to and try to find him a good home on my own. When I realized I was going to have to give him up, the thought of taking him to a animal shelter devastated me. I tried Papillon Rescue and it took me directly to Rescue Me. Within two days I had this older couple who were begging me not to give him to anyone else, they wanted him that badly. I still miss Thurby every day but at least I know he's in a loving environment with people who really wanted him and went out of their way to get him. Giving Thurby up was probably one of the hardest things I ever one but while he was confused he wasn't traumatized. The last picture I have in my mind of Thurby was him being held, loved on and kissed by a very sweet lady who thought he was the most beautiful dog she had ever seen. Feel free to post my comments. When my daughter and granddaughter are able to get on their feet and into a home of their own and I no longer have to worry about allergic reactions, I'll be back to Rescue Me for happier reasons - looking for a new best friend.      RescueMe was the answer to our prayers - literally!! My mother had two papillons she could no longer care for and we were lost as to what/how to find them new homes. I posted their information on RescueMe and within a few hours we had multiple inquiries about meeting our little Papillons.
